Maldives’ FIU joins Egmont Group

Maldives' Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) joined Egmont Group, an international organization fostering cooperation among financial intelligence units to combat money laundering and terrorism financing.

The membership was granted during the Egmont Group's 30th Annual General Meeting in Paris on June 2nd. The initiative, proposed by Maldives Monetary Authority in 2017, aims to enhance information exchange and technical collaboration. Maldives sees this membership as pivotal in strengthening efforts against financial crimes.
