Malaysia reaffirms commitment to ASEAN-US collaboration

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Friday reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to bolstering collaboration between ASEAN and the United States, particularly in tackling urgent critical regional and global challenges.

He said Malaysia is prepared to work closely with both ASEAN and the US to resolve outstanding issues that could facilitate the United States’ signing and ratification of the Southeast Asia Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone Protocol. 

Anwar’s remarks come as ASEAN and the United States continue to strengthen ties, focusing on critical areas such as security, human capital development, and environmental sustainability.
