Malaysia announced on Friday it has agreed to launch a new search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, which disappeared 10 years ago in one of aviation's greatest enduring mysteries.
Anthony Loke, Malaysia Transport Minister said "On 13th of December, 2024, that was last Friday, the cabinet has agreed in principle to accept the proposal from Ocean Infinity United Kingdom to proceed with seabed search operations to locate the wreckage of flight MH370, in a new area estimated at 15,000 square kilometres in the southern Indian Ocean. This endeavour will be based on the 'no find, no fee' principle."
Anthony Loke, Malaysia Transport Minister added the new search area proposed by Ocean Infinity is based on the latest information and data analysis conducted by experts and researchers. The Boeing 777 carrying 239 people disappeared from radar screens on March 8, 2014 while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
