A year after cuts to US-funded healthcare, the Family Planning Association of Malawi (FPAM) is on the brink of collapse, highlighting the impact on communities that rely on its services. The suspension of FPAM programs last year has contributed to a rise in unintended pregnancies and disrupted access to critical sexual and reproductive health care.

Globally, researchers estimate that hundreds of thousands of people have been affected since the dismantling of foreign aid, which has undermined efforts to combat HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis in some of the world’s poorest regions.
