Major power outage causes disruption in Toronto

A power outage was happened in downtown Toronto on Thursday for about eight hours. Officials said the outage was caused by a large crane that struck a high-voltage transmission line earlier in the day.
The incident forced the evacuation of one of the city's biggest shopping malls, and caused some businesses to be locked. The power utility Hydro One said the outage, which started at about noon on Thursday, affected 10,000 customers. Hydro One confirmed late Thursday that power has been restored, local media reported. The company said residents and businesses that have been without power for most of the afternoon and evening now have electricity.
