Major Drug Bust: Tatmadaw seizes over 45 billion kyats worth of ICE

According to a report from the Myanmar Police Force, Tatmadaw's Navy intercepted a significant drug smuggling operation on February 17th.

Acting on a tip-off, a navy vessel raided the "Min Htet Tha-3" vessel about 193 miles northwest of Kawthaung in the Taninthayi Region around 9:00 pm. During the operation, authorities discovered 1.298 tons of ICE (methamphetamine) valued at over 45 billion kyats.

Four suspects aboard the vessel were arrested. Interrogation revealed that the drugs were being transported from Shan State to the Yangon Region, with the intention of further smuggling them into Malaysian waters. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
