Madrid Pride parade continues into the night

Thousands took to the streets of Madrid to participate in this year's Pride parade. Considered Europe's largest Pride event it features a week of parties, concerts and community events in and around the capital's Chueca neighborhood with participants from all around the world.

This year's march for LGBTQ+ rights returns after two years of cancellations and limitations due to the pandemic. The year 2022 marks 30 years of progress in activism and the struggle for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community In Spain. Many advances have been made in the last 30 years, including equal marriage which was legalized in 2005.
