French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Nuuk on Sunday for an official visit to Greenland, underscoring France's commitment to the unity of the European community. Macron said, highlighting the shared values between France, Greenland, and the broader European community.

During his visit, Macron is scheduled to hold a trilateral meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen. The three leaders are expected to discuss Arctic cooperation, regional security, and economic development.

Greenland, once a Danish colony, became an integral part of the Kingdom of Denmark in 1953. It was granted home rule in 1979, expanding its autonomy, although Denmark retains control over foreign affairs and defense.
