French President Emmanuel Macron gathered over 150 business leaders on Monday at the Chateau of Versailles to convince them to invest in the country despite the ongoing "yellow vest" crisis. Nearly 120 foreign business leaders attended the conference, including the heads of Microsoft, Uber, Snap, Ikea, Cisco, Procter & Gamble, General Electric, JPMorgan, HSBC, Allianz, Bayer, BMW, Daimler, Toyota Motor.
Over 600 million in investment was unveiled for this second "Choose France" summit, according to Macron's office. Companies need more simplification in a more complex environment, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire told a room of CEOs. After weeks of sometimes violent protests, Macron is trying to convince international business leaders of his will to continue reforming France while listening to the French people's demands.
