Macron, Sanchez and Costa meet ahead of summit

French President Emmanuel Macron, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa met in Brussels on Thursday, ahead of the European Union Summit. EU leaders were heading into a two-day summit with opposing views.

The upcoming winter season will also be front and centre at EU headquarters, where leaders will turn their own heat on in talks expected to run deep into the night, with any outcome on a joint energy approach an open question.
