Speaking on the fringes of the 19th Francophonie summit, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed reservations about the decision of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to send troops on ground operations into Lebanon.

The President also said he would receive the families of the Franco-Israeli victims of the 7 October attack on the anniversary of the attack. In addition, Macron called for "the withdrawal of the M23 and Rwandan troops" from the east of the DRC.
