French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday evening reappointed Sebastien Lecornu as prime minister, announced the Presidency, four days after accepting his resignation.

The Elysee Palace said in the statement that Lecornu has been tasked with forming a new government. Lecornu resigned on Monday, less than a month after being appointed by Macron and just one day after unveiling part of his cabinet lineup, saying that the conditions "were no longer in place" for him to remain in office.
