Macron Meets Pope Francis in Corsica

French President Emmanuel Macron met with Pope Francis at the Napoleon Bonaparte airport in Ajaccio on Sunday, marking the end of the pontiff’s visit to Corsica.

The leaders held brief talks, focusing on "international issues of common relevance," as stated by the Elysée.

During the meeting, President Macron presented the pope with a gift of the official book on the restoration of Notre-Dame, and an edition of Charles Péguy's Présentation de la Beauce à Notre-Dame de Chartres.
