Macron leads Armistice ceremony in Paris with Harris

Armistice remembrances around the world returned to some sense of normalcy Thursday after the COVID-19 pandemic last year wiped out ceremonies to mark the end of World War I.

French President Emmanuel Macron was joined in Paris by U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris in a moving tribute to how both nations stood together to force a retreating Germany into surrender on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m., 1918.

After a diplomatic spat over a submarine deal gone wrong that put the relationship between at a historic low, both held arms in a warm welcome at Thursday's ceremony.
