Lula attends rally in Sao Paulo

Presidential candidate Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva attended the rally "In Defence of Democracy" on Monday, just a week before Brazil's runoff elections on October 30.

As tensions and threats of electoral violence escalate, millions of Brazilians will cast their ballots in next Sunday's elections for the country's next presidents.

The leftist Workers' Party candidate came close to an outright victory on October 2, receiving over 48% of the votes. His rival, far-right President Jair Bolsonaro got 43%.

A new research released on October 24 by pollster IPEC, shows Lula with 50% of the votes and Bolsonaro with 43%, while the rest would vote blank or null.
