Livestock Sector: Visit to University of Veterinary Science (Yezin)

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi met with the students attending 4th Year courses at the University of Veterinary Science (Yezin) in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday and fulfilled the needs of the students in their learning, accommodation and health.

The Deputy Minister also encouraged the students and gave the guidance to the students. Then, the  Deputy Minister met with the Directors-General of the Department of Livestock and Aquaculture Research, Rector of the University of Veterinery Science (Yezin), Proferssors and Departmental Heads and made discussion on development of nation’s agriculture sector and called for the concerted efforts of the researchers and the relevants departments.

Then, the Deputy Minister and party inspected the Aquaponics research process and provided necessary instructions to conduct the research activities according to the climate changes, customer choices and market demand.

The Department of Livestock and Aquaculture Research is actively conducting researches on food and drug, fisheries genetics, microbial meat, plant and animal microbes. Likewise, the Deputy Minister inspected the production of natural fertilizers from livestock manure, animal feed from plant waste and organic plantations jointly organized by the department of Agricultural Research and department of Livestock and Aquaculture Research.
