Livestock Production: Efforts for development of livestock sector

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is striving for boosting production of livestock sector.

On 23rd April, Deputy Minister Dr Aung Gyi made inspection at the livestock breeding zones in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. The Deputy Minister inspected the poultry farm in Pay Taw Village of Tatkone Township, dairy cow farm in Kan Gyi Livestock Breeding Zone, and the Piggery Farm in Kinthar Village, as well as conducting apicultural research works at the Livestock Research Farm in Shwe Myo and incubation of ducklings at Shwe Myo Livestock Breeding Zone.

During the inspection, the Deputy Minister stressed the measures for resilient to natural disaster, bio-security and disease prevention while striving for boosting production through the use of modern breeding method. He also emphasized for conducting more research works for development of livestock sector, through the extended breeding of pedigree species.
