Livestock Breeding Sector: Inspection at the Livestock Research Camp

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi made inspection on operation process of Livestock Research Camp in Pyawbwe Township of Mandalay Region on Wednesday.

The camp is conducting research works on preservation of original gene of animals, reproduction and pedigree species. During 2024-2025 Fiscal Year, the camp is implementing research works on feeding Urea Molasses Multi- nutrient Block (UMMB) which is produced with different kinds of formula by using agricultural waste and giving fenbendazole to ruminants for antihelminthic ability and growth.

Also, the camp is conducting research on native and hybrid varieties, and nutritional values of grass species including Napier and Rosie as well as the comparison of the genotypic characteristics of Myanmar's local cattle.

Then, the Deputy Minister visited the University of Veterinary Medicine in Zeyathiri Township where he inspected lecture rooms, university hostels, demonstrated livestock farms, livestock breeding, research farms and veterinary clinic. He also met with the students and encouraged them.
