Livestock breeders’ lives under harsh winter conditions

There was intense daily activity in Göründü village, located in Van, the eastern city of Türkiye, which remains blanketed in snow. Livestock breeders fed their animals with dry hay stored during the summer months, while women in the village bake bread in traditional tandoor ovens and carry out household chores.

The village experienced extremely harsh weather conditions, with air temperatures at times dropping to minus 20 degrees Celsius. Despite the freezing cold, life continued as residents maintain their daily routines under challenging winter conditions.
