





With the aims at the efforts for the long-term development of libraries and to encourage reading habits among the public, students, and schoolchildren, On January 28, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, along with State Ministers and officials, viewed and encouraged an event at the Basic Education High School (Shwenattaung) in Mawlamyine, where students were participating in literary panel discussions, competitions of proverb letters conjoining, coloring, and toys combining.
Following this, the Chief Minister presented commemorative gifts to the student participants and encouraged them to use their free time effectively by reading, fostering good reading habits, and working together to support these activities. He also warmly greeted the students.
The Chief Minister then visited and showed support for the library displays, including books and magazines on knowledge and aesthetic literature. He donated books and periodicals to the school library.
Later, the Chief Minister and party visited the Kyelsin Alin U-Yin Library in Kyar Inn village, Mawlamyine, where they observed the public reading books and periodicals with great interest. The Chief Minister also donated books and periodicals to the library and coordinated efforts to meet the library's needs.
