The 5th Irrawaddy Literary Festival concluded at Hotel Mercure in Mandalay, Monday. The festival had paper reading sessions on arts and humanities, roundtable discussions, cartoon drawings and poem recitals.
In addition, literature enthusiasts and students from Mandalay’s colleges and high schools took part in question and answer sessions. A panelist from Australia Christopher Lamb said the he participated in the discussions on education reforms and Myanmar’s peace talks.
He said he loved the fact that writers from all across Myanmar could gather to exchange thoughts and ideas on the various topics of the nation in one place. More than a hundred local literati and thirty from abroad participated in the festival that was held from 9th to 11th November.
