Literacy training for trainers: Mandalay Region CM addressed the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of basic literacy work region level training for trainers for the literacy of the rural population and the ethnic peoples in Mandalay Region was held at Basic Education High School No (8) in Aung Myay Thazan Township of Mandalay Region and attended by the Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, region Ministers, region staff officer and the responsible officials from region education department, members of committee for supervising literacy work, rectors, training instructors and trainees.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that literacy for everybody is paramount important in such a period of building a new society with knowledge, skill and technology for the development of the country, the government is addressing for the literacy of every citizen and completion of school education, it’s being implemented to narrow the gap of literacy rate between the rural and urban population as much as possible by drafting the plans, the basic education schools teachers, volunteer students from the Universities and education degree colleges and local educated persons will implement the literacy campaign in the summer holidays as the form of national campaign like the previous “3-Rs literacy movement etc.

Next, the chief Minister and officials watched a video clip on educating story for literacy campaign and cordially greeted the training instructors, supervisors and trainees.The basic literacy work region level training for trainers for the literacy of the rural population and the ethnic peoples in Mandalay Region will be given till April 3rd and the designated study groups in relevant townships will be re-given. The campaign will be implemented with 183 study groups of 2564 trainees of literacy training, 183 training instructors, 26 supervisors in 14 townships in Mandalay Region, it’s reported.
