Lions and gorillas at London Zoo open festive gifts

When it comes to festive treats, it seems lions aren't so different to many humans celebrating Christmas - some take care when opening their presents, others dive in, paper flying. Keepers at ZSL London Zoo left brightly wrapped boxes scented with seasonal spices as a yuletide surprise for Asiatic lions Bhanu and Arya this week. Keepers also gift wrapped carrots and Brussel sprouts for Western lowland gorillas Alika, Gernot, Mjukuu and Effie to enjoy, leaving the presents under the trees of the zoo's Gorilla Kingdom. ZSL London Zoo is open each day over the festive period, apart from Christmas Day.
