Lille's Tremplin programme boosts fresh talent in French cinema

The Tremplin programme at Séries Mania Institute in Lille is giving young talents their first film set experience. Participants are producing a mini-series to be screened at the Séries Mania festival in March.

Launched in 2023, the seven-month course trains 18- to 25-year-olds from challenging backgrounds. No diploma is required, making the audiovisual industry more accessible. Students apply their skills on set, learning script breakdowns and shot planning. Many come from unrelated jobs, with a passion for photography or cinema. The festival offers a key platform to showcase their work.
