Libraries Development: Promoting Reading Habit Festival in Min Buu

Libraries Development and Promoting Reading Habit Festival was held at No. 1 Basic Education High School in Minbu Township in Magway Region on 31st August.

The festival commenced with the formal opening of the festival arch by cutting the ribbon. After distributing foodstuff to the students, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and Chief Minister U Tint Lwin made a tour to festive exhibitions and photo galleries.Then, the 2nd session of the festival continued with the screening of a video clip titled “Vigorousity for the Nation’s Interest”.

Next, the Union Minister in his capacity as the Chairman of the Myanmar Libraries Development Cooperation Committee stressed that the Libraries Development and Promoting Reading Habit Festivals have been organized to promote the reading habit of the students and urged the students to appreciate the efforts of the teachers who are trying their best to nurture them to become successful in their lives.

During the event, 3 million kyat cash assistance, Public Science Treatises Volume (6) and (7), books and publications donated by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla were presented, In addition, 5 sets of DTH satellite, 15 sets of DVB T2 Set Top Box were donated for the basic education schools in Min Buu.

Moreover, 60 million kyat cash assistance were handed over for construction of 4 new libraries in Magway Region.
