Libation Ceremony: Strong wind hit religious buildings renovated in Lewe

The Libation Ceremony for donation of religious buildings renovated by Nay Pyi Taw Command for Aung Myin Gone monastery at Lewe township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, was conducted on Sunday with the attendance by the Sayadaw of Lewe Township Sanga Nayaka Committee and members of the Sangha.

Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin OoLwin accompanied by Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander Brigadier General Wai Lin and wife, Nay Pyi Taw Council members and their wives, Deputy Mayor of Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee,Permanent secretaries and departmental heads, senior military officers,officers, families from Nay Pyi Taw Command and local residents also attended the ceremony.

The ceremony was opened with the recitation of “Namotasa” 3 times. Then, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin OoLwin and party received five precepts from the Sayadaw and listened to Paritta suttas delivered by the Sayadaws.

After that, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander and responsible officials donated offertories to Sayadaws, listened to Dhamma sermon and shared the merits gained.

On April 21st, strong winds damaged and destroyed houses, religious buildings,school buildings and healthcare buildings in the villages of Tada-U and Aung Myin Gone in Lewe Township.

New construction and renovation of religious building such as Prayer’s Hall and dining hall of Aung Myin Gone Monastery is donated by Nay Pyi Taw Command with more than 100 million kyats of cash.
