On March 28, 2025, a powerful earthquake registering 7.7 on the Richter scale struck central Myanmar, resulting in numerous damages, loss of life, and injuries.
In response, leaders and Heads of States from four countries sent the letters of condolences to the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. The letters expressed condolences over the significant damages, loss of life, and injuries caused by the severe earthquake.
The leaders included the President of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping; the Premier of China, Mr. Li Qiang; the King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni; the President of the Cambodian National Assembly, Samdech Hun Sen; the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet; the Sultan of Brunei, His Majesty Hassanal Bolkiah; and the President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, along with the Vice President, Rosario Murillo.
Each of these leaders conveyed their condolences to the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. The letters acknowledged the intense tremors felt in Myanmar and expressed sorrow over the significant loss of life and damage to homes.
They conveyed sympathy for the affected people, offered support for those injured and their families, and mentioned their readiness to provide any necessary assistance to help the people of Myanmar overcome the disaster and rebuild the country as soon as possible.
They expressed belief that under the strong leadership of the Myanmar government, the affected people would successfully overcome the dangers and quickly rebuild a better social life. Furthermore, they commended the ongoing rescue operations in the affected areas and wished peace for those who lost their lives and a swift recovery for the injured. In these difficult times, the letters affirmed solidarity with the people of Myanmar.
