Japanese Prime Minister Kishida, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and South Korean President Yoon began their talks on Monday in Seoul.
It's the first time for the three countries to hold a three-way summit in four and a half years. The three leaders are expected to agree to cooperate on a range of issues, including the economy, people-to-people exchanges, the declining birthrate and aging population, climate change, and measures against infectious diseases.
They are expected to confirm that the denuclearization of North Korea and stability of the Korean Peninsula are in the common interests of the three countries. The leaders are also expected to agree to hold a summit on a regular basis. They plan to release a joint declaration summarizing their talks.
