Laying foundation brick: Shan State CM attended the ceremony

The ceremony of laying foundation brick for the facility of Patron Sayadaw of Metta Aye YeikParahita monastery was held in Panglong Town, Loilim District of Shan State (South) on 27th October and attended by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, Commander of East-Central Command Maj-Gen Myo Min Tun, Shan State Government Ministers, State Advocate General, officials and well-wishers.

First, the Sayadawgyis led by Mann Hsu Sayadaw formally opened the ceremony by reciting religious verses and the Chief Minister, Commander, State Ministers, State Advocate General, officials and well-wisher planted gangaw saplings by marking the successfully completing of the ceremony of laying foundation brick.

Next, the Mann Hsu Sayadaw, Chief Minister and party unveiled Arch-Entrance of Metta Aye YeikParahita monastic education school by cutting the ribbon, provided foodstuff and clothes for the students and IDPs, attended the merit sharing ceremony, observed five precepts from Dhattaw monastery Sayadaw and took the Paritta Suttas.

After that, Chief Minister and officials offered offertories to the members of Sangha, 50 million Kyats for the construction of facility of Patron Sayadaw, 2 million Kyats for day meal was donated by Commander of East-Central Command and wife, 10 million Kyats for the construction of facility of Patron Sayadaw by the State level departments and the cash and kind donations by the well-wishers and those were accepted and returned certificate of honor by the board of trustee.

After taking the sermon delivered by the Mann Hsu Sayadaw, the merits gained were shared and the day meal was offered to the members of Sangha.

Later, the ceremony of conveying relics in Mwetaw Ho Ancient pagoda led by the Sayadawgyis and the Chief Minister, Commander and officials conveyed the relics to the relics chamber and paid homage to the relics. After offering offertories by Chief Minister and party and taking the sermon delivered by Mann Hsu Sayadaw, the ceremony was concluded.

After hearing the clarifications of the responsible officials of Township development committee regarding with the status of constructing View Point in Yadana Lake in Panglong town, cleaning and greening at the vicinity of Panglong Agreement Stone Monument, installation of water fountain in a lake in front of stone monument, the Chief Minister addressed and fulfilled the needs, paid homage Township’s landmark Maharathabhisamaggi pagoda, donated cash for the all-round renovation of the pagoda and signed on the guest book.

The Chief Minister and party attended the ceremony of providing cash assistance and rice provision for the natural disaster-stricken people and provided 152.75 million Kyats for 65 household whose home was completely destroyed with the rate of 2.35 million Kyats per house and the Commander provided relief items.

Next, the Chief Minister and party inspected the status of resettlement in Khaung Nwet, Ein Khit and Naung Neit villages which were destroyed by natural disaster, heard the reports on the work implementations and coordinated requirements.
