Lavrov meets China counterpart on UNGA sidelines

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Thursday.

Lavrov commented that the two countries had a "fruitful meeting" when representatives met at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan recently, and confirmed that Russia wants to "closely cooperate" with China in achieving the agreements that were made there.

Lavrov also met with Egyptian Foreign Minister and Brazilian Foreign Minister. Lavrov is due to take the rostrum at the General Assembly on Saturday.
