Launching Ceremony: Myanmar National Oral Health Action Plan

Myanmar National Oral Health Action Plan was launched on 24th January. 

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the ceremony, held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw and made a speech. In his speech, the Union Minister underscored the importance of oral health and urged the citizens to practice good oral hygiene and practices. Oral cavity diseases are non communicable diseases which show early symptoms.

In order to provide advanced oral health care services including digital dentistry treatment, it’s necessary to nurture more of post graduate trainees, dentists, dental nurses and assistants as well as the Dental Prosthetists. Moreover, oral health care service provisions need to be carried out at the Dental hospitals and Universities of Dental Medicine.

The Union Minister also encouraged to conduct oral health care provisions at rural and remote areas while making efforts for oral cancer risk reduction. Stressing on systematic utilization of advanced dental equipment and tools, the Union Minister called for the concerted efforts of relevant individuals to meet the target towards universal health coverage for oral health by 2030. This was followed by clarification on Myanmar National Oral Health Action Plan (2024-2030).
