Launching Bamboo Workshop: MoALI UM provided fund and industrial equipment

The launching ceremony of workshop for storage and packaging which is one of the work processes of Project for income boosting of rural households based on the bamboo shoot industries value chain implementing with Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2021) was held at Office No (15) in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 5th January with the attendance of Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung.

First, the Union Minister U Min Naung, Deputy Ministers, Vice Chairman of the Coordinating and Supervisory Committee of the Mekong-Lanchang Cooperation opened the workshop by cutting the ceremonial ribbon, sprinkled the brass inscription and viewed the industrial equipment and tools for storage and packaging and the demonstration.

At the occasion of providing fund and industrial equipment and tools held at the meeting hall of the Ministry, the Union Minister U Min Naung gave a remark saying the machines of the work processes will be installed at the workshop to be able to run the project works for the long term, the priority is given for the sustainability of the industry, the job opportunity and income generation, socio-economic life and improvement of food security of the rural household in the project area could be carried out as well as agricultural products, foods and bamboo shoot production to improve to the level of cottage industry and MSMEs etc.

Next, the Director General of Planning Department clarified the purpose of workshop launching and providing fund and industrial equipment and tools. Then, the Union Minister and officials provided fund and industrial equipment and tools to the Common Interest Groups (CIGs) in the villages in Pyinmana Townships, cooperatives societies, department of agriculture and Township agricultural offices of Pyinmana and Lewe Townships.
