Latin America Indigenous leaders call for equal rights in Amazon meeting

Indigenous peoples from seven Latin American countries ended a three-day summit in the Amazon, the world's largest tropical rainforest with the aim of coordinating efforts to protect life and stop the exploitation of natural resources in their territories. 

Representatives from Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and Mexico met in the Ecuadorian village of Sarayaku and called on governments to follow national and international court rulings that support their rights.
