India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the Commissioning Ceremony of INS Tushil on Monday, the latest multi-role stealth-guided missile frigate, at the Yantar Shipyard in Russia.

The INS. Tushil is an upgraded Krivak-3-class frigate and the seventh in the series. It follows six predecessors, including three Talwar-class and three Teg-class ships.

The commissioning marks the first of two advanced follow-on ships from a contract signed in October 2016 between J.S.C. Rosoboron-export, the Indian Navy, and the Government of India. The ship stands as a symbol of the Indian Navy’s undying commitment to safeguard the nation’s maritime frontiers.
