The “Peace Train-2024” China-Laos humanitarian medical rescue exercise began on Saturday in Vientiane of Laos. This is the fifth joint drill between the two countries’ militaries, and it aims to strengthen their joint medical and logistical command and rescue capabilities while deepening practical cooperation and exchanges.

An officer with the Chinese Guidance and Coordination Group of the rescue exercise said “In this joint exercise, both sides focus on earthquake disasters and international humanitarian medical rescue, dividing the activities into three phases.

They have jointly established a three-tiered rescue structure to conduct training on mass casualty treatment, health epidemic prevention and protection, and specialized surgical treatment”. The joint exercise will continue until late November.
