Laos chairs ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) commenced in the capital of Laos on Tuesday, preceding the opening ceremony of the 44thand 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits, which will take place at the National Convention Centre on 9th October.

Key discussions during the AMM include ASEAN community-building efforts, strategic future directions, and the management of ASEAN’s external relations. Laos, as the 2024 ASEAN chair, will hand over the post to Malaysia during the closing ceremony of the Summits on Friday. At the ceremony, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar is scheduled to deliver short remarks outlining Malaysia’s vision as Chair of ASEAN.
