Landslide in quarry rescue efforts

A fatal landslide occurred at a stone quarry in the Fatsa district, in Turkiye’s northern Ordu province on Wednesday. Two workers were trapped after rocks broke loose from a hillside and tumbled onto an excavator and a dump truck operating below.

Rescue teams from AFAD, the fire brigade, gendarmerie and medical services were dispatched to the scene following the incident. The Ordu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident.
