Landmark Gaza Strip tower reduced to rubble after Israeli airstrikes

The Gaza Strip remained under heavy fire for a sixth day on Thursday, with Israel continuing to launch airstrikes in response to attacks by the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

The death toll in the conflict has risen in both Israel and the Gaza Strip. According to reports, at least 1,300 people have been killed on each side.The violence erupted on Saturday when Hamas militants entered Israeli territory and killed hundreds of people and took dozens more hostage in an unprecedented assault. Israel has also cut power and water supplies to the populated Gaza territory. The UN said that more than 300,000 Gazans have been displaced.
