Land Management: Mon State Chief Minister addresses meetings

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein on Thursday addressed the work coordination meeting (3/2023) of the Mon State Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Committee and work coordination meeting (4/2023) of the Mon State farmland management committee at the state government office.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of farmland management in conducting agriculture and livestock breeding tasks within the state and local food sufficiency of the state.

It's necessary to provide required seeds, farmland, agricultural water and technology assistance to develop the agriculture sector of the state and socio-economic life of farmers and to accelerate the oil crop plantation within the state.

Then, an official from the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics clarified the applications for the right to use vacant, fallow and virgin lands and applications to convert the fallow land to farmland and attendees made sector-wise discussion and the Chief Minister supplemented the discussion. The meeting was concluded by a closing remark of the Chief Minister.
