Land dispute talks start between Venezuela, Guyana leaders

Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro and his Guyanese counterpart Irfaan Ali began talks Thursday in the Caribbean aimed at easing tensions over Caracas's claims on Guyana's oil-rich Essequibo region.

In a short video released by Venezuela's communications ministry, Maduro was seen seating across from Ali at a table as the meeting got underway, chaired by the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves.
