Lancang-Mekong Week: Model Nursery established in Hlegu Township

The “Establishment of Model Nursery for Fast Multiplication of Elite Clones of Mango, Pummelo, Jackfruit and Guava Project” under the assistance of China’s Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund is initiated in October, 2019.

Currently, Mother Germplasm Resource Nursery and Rapid Propagation Biotechnology System Based on Cutting and Grafting and Model Nursery have been established at the Vegetables and Fruits Research and Development Center, Hlegu Township, Yangon Region.

The project will carry out the technical multiplier training courses for the local farmers.

In addition, the technical exchange and experience sharing will be conducted among the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation member countries and it will facilitate to the quality enhancement and industrial expansion of gardening agriculture, according to press release of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.
