Labour Affairs: Workshop On Labour Disputes Conducted

The union minister for labour, immigration and population U Thein Swe delivered a remark at the opening ceremony of workshop on the necessary rules and regulations regarding with the labour disputes, at the meeting hall of the ministry, Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

The workshop is organized to implement the instruction of vice president instructed to conduct a workshop included ministry of home affairs and union attorney general office and to coordinate the rules and regulations regarding with the labour disputes at the regular meeting of vice president (1) and the business entrepreneurs held at UMFCCI, Yangon on 17th November, 2018.

The union minister pointed out the requirements of employers and employees at the labour disputes and prevailing of peaceful and pleasant working place.

Union Minister, Ministry of labour, immigration and population, H.E. Thein Swe said “For the prevailing of peaceful and pleasant working place, the responsibility lays not only on the ministry but also on the employers and workers organizations. Some do not have enough knowledge on the law to carry out the duties in line with the law. So, the ministry is educating its staffs and giving instructions to the employers to provide the rights of the workers and specified facilities for the workers.”  

During the workshop, the participants led by the permanent secretary of the ministry of labour, immigration and population discussed the current situations of labour disputes, approaches to be provided by the departments at the labour disputes and the necessary rules and regulations to be issued regarding with the labour disputes.
