





Union Minister for Labour U Aung Kyaw Hoe attended a ceremony in Mandalay to provide family support benefits for insured workers affected by natural disasters and for their children’s education.
At the event, the Union Minister explained that workers who are part of the Social Security Scheme can receive various benefits, including disaster relief payments and education support. In Mandalay Region, there are 7,430 registered workplaces and over 121,000 insured workers.
Today, a total of 2,020 million kyats were provided to 25,534 workers affected by natural disasters. Additionally, education support totaling 12 million kyats was approved for 313 children of 229 workers. It is learnt that 598 million kyats was already given to over 15,000 children of 11,000 workers.
The Union Minister handed over the funds to Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, who expressed thanks. After the ceremony, a discussion on labor dispute resolution was held, attended by regional officials, business representatives, and labor organizations. The Union Minister encouraged open dialogue to find better solutions for handling labor conflicts effectively under the Labor Dispute Settlement Law.
