KP Oli's return to country's chief executive

The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) CPN UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has returned to the country’s chief executive post after three years.

He was appointed as Prime Minister on July 14, following a seven-point agreement reached on July 1st, opening the door to the sixth power collaboration between Congress and UML. Oli has previously served as Prime Minister three times in 2015, 2018, and 2021.

He has been the country’s home minister, deputy prime minister, and foreign minister at different times. Oli joined Communist politics in 1965 and joined the Nepal Communist Party in 1969.
