Japanese cosmetics maker Kose said it has signed a strategic partnership with an Indian skincare company. It aims to strengthen business in the Global South.

Kose announced on Wednesday it had acquired 10 percent of the shares in Foxtale Consumer.  Foxtale was founded in 2021 and has grown mainly through online sales in India’s expanding market.  Kose says it is considering to establish a joint venture between Foxtale and Kose’s local subsidiary to meet local demand. Kose’s net profit fell 28 percent in the first nine months of 2024 from a year earlier.
