Korea, Türkiye agree to deepen cooperation

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Türkiye President agreed to deepen cooperation in the defense, nuclear power plant and biotechnology sectors during their bilateral summit in Ankara.

The two countries also signed three MOUs, including one on cooperation in atomic energy. President Erdogan mentioned Türkiye’s Altay battle tanks powered by South Korean engines and expressed hope for more advanced cooperation in the defense sector. The two leaders adopted a joint statement on strategic partnership ties containing details on comprehensive bilateral cooperation.
