Knowledge Sharing Program: Topics on intellectual property rights discussed

Jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Union Auditor General office, the awareness seminar on the Intellectual Property Rights Laws held as No (51) edition under the (Knowledge Sharing Program - KSP) at the Nawarat Hall of the Union Auditor General office in Hybrid System on Thursday.

In the discussion, the Union Auditor General, Dr. Khin Naing Oo, mentioned that the Union Auditor General's Office continuously organizes knowledge-sharing discussions for its staff. Today’s session focused on ensuring that the personnel understand and apply relevant laws and regulations effectively.

It was conducted in line with the guidance to manage the dissemination of legal knowledge so that all citizens may respect and adhere to the law. The office not only carries out audit tasks but also provides policy recommendations for various Union ministries. Therefore, staff members need to be familiar with the laws, regulations, rules, and directives issued by different departments and organizations. Today's session will focus on four major intellectual property laws, namely the Trademark Law, Industrial Design Law, Patent Law, and Copyright Law, and will provide clarifications on these topics.

The aim is to ensure that staff members are equipped with the necessary knowledge, legal expertise, and practical understanding, so they can effectively apply these to safeguard the nation's interests.

After that, the Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Commerce, Dr. Hnin Nwe Aye, spoke about the importance of intellectual property law, providing basic essential knowledge. Director U Lin Aung Swe also provided comprehensive explanations regarding the basics of intellectual property rights. Attendees then had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions on the topics of interest.
