Knowledge Sharing Forum: Matter on Village water accessibility project discussed

Regarding with the Village water accessibility project included community-based water purification system and home water supply pipeline system implemented by Department of Rural Development with Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund (2022) in the villages of Kyaungkone, Myaungmya, dedaye townships of Ayeyawady Region, the Knowledge Sharing Forum with the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation member countries and partnership organizations which are implementing rural water accessibility and socio-economic development in Myanmar was held at Department of Rural Development at office No (36-B) in Nay Pyi Taw on August 8.

The forum was attended by Director General of the Department of Rural Development, the first secretary of the embassy of People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, Senior officials and responsible officials of the project, representatives from partnership organizations in person and the representatives from MLC member countries including Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam through Video Conferencing system.

At occasion, Director General of the Department of Rural Development and first secretary of the embassy of People’s Republic of China to Myanmar made remarks.  Next, the project Director Deputy Director General of the Department of Rural Development clarified the technologies and work processes regarding with the implementation of Mekong-Lancang project.

Then, the representatives from Cambodia, Laos PDR, Thailand and Vietnam clarified regarding with the projects implementing in their country. The organizations implementing water accessibility and socio-economic development including UNICEF, Oxfam, BAJ and CRS reported the project implementations and the attendees took part in the discussion collectively.

After presenting memorable gifts of the forum for the invited guests by the Director General of DRD and speech of conclusion was given.
