A week before his coronation, Britain's King Charles III took on several royal engagements on Friday. Charles took part in a ceremony at Windsor Castle after accepting the role of Commissioner-in-Chief of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

He met with members of the RCMP and was presented with a RCMP horse as well as a special commemorative sword. Charles also helped kick off the London leg of the Australian Legacy Torch Relay as he attended an event at Buckingham Palace.

With the charity celebrating it centenary year, Charles met with officials and some of those taking part. He watched on as torchbearers lit the flame ahead of the London leg of the relay before the torch travels to Australia where it will pass through all 44 Legacy Clubs in the country.
