King’s sixth cycle birthday anniversary commemorative banknotes

The Bank of Thailand has issued ten million commemorative 100-baht banknotes, to mark the occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary (72) on 28th July.

The notes will be available from 23rd July. Bank of Thailand Governor said on Friday that the design of the banknotes is in portrait layout, unlike other Thai banknotes which are printed in the landscape layout.

Using the latest technology, they are printed on a polymer material, which is durable and difficult to counterfeit. Two million pamphlets for the banknotes have also been printed, which will be available at 10 baht each, with all the proceeds to be presented to the King.
